Dispute a wrong charge on your credit or debit card

Answer a few questions and get a completed billing error notice that uses the exact rights the law gives you: the Fair Credit Billing Act for credit cards, or Regulation E for debit cards. You also get the deadlines that apply to you and to your card company.

Have these handy

The first statement that showed the wrong charge (you need its closing date)
Your card company's billing-error address. It's on the statement, often labeled "Send billing inquiries to" or in the "Billing Rights Summary". It's usually not the payment address.
Receipts, order emails, cancellation confirmations or chats with the merchant, if you have them
