Find forgotten subscriptions by having AI audit your statements
Paste or upload a redacted bank or card statement and ask AI to list every recurring charge, then cancel what you don't use.
Part of: How to cancel a subscription and get a refund
1. Copy this prompt
Paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Grok (the free versions work), then replace the [highlighted brackets] with your details. Leave out account numbers and SSNs.
Below are my last 3 months of transactions (merchant, date, amount only). Identify every recurring or subscription charge, including annual ones and free trials that converted. Make a table: merchant, what it likely is, amount, frequency, yearly cost. Flag duplicates (e.g., two cloud storage plans), services covered by a bundle I already pay for, and price increases. Suggest keep/cancel/downgrade and give me the fastest official way to cancel each. [PASTE TRANSACTIONS]

What the AI did: A Mint writer asked ChatGPT for inbox and bank search phrases ('Your subscription has been renewed', 'Auto-debit confirmation'), found forgotten services, and had ChatGPT write cancellation emails for the hard-to-cancel ones.

Why this works
The problem: Small recurring charges add up and are easy to forget, especially across app stores, PayPal and cards.
How AI helps: AI groups recurring charges by merchant, amount and frequency, totals them per year, and suggests what to cancel, downgrade or bundle.
