Questions people ask
Is unclaimed money legit?
Yes. Every US state runs an official unclaimed property program for things like old bank balances, refunds and uncashed checks. Searching and claiming with the state is free. Be wary of 'finders' who charge a percentage, and of texts or emails saying you have money waiting.

Can I still get an old tax refund?
Sometimes. If you didn't file a return in a year you were owed a refund, the IRS sets a deadline (generally three years) to claim it. After that the money goes to the Treasury. Check the IRS's latest deadline notice and your online account.
